COVID or a cold...? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ-- December 21, 2020

A loha and Merry Christmas! ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ„ I started feeling sick Tuesday night.. And then I felt REALLY sick on Wednesday and Thursday. We are pretty sure that it was a cold, not covid. So we had to stay home Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I pretty much just slept. I had all of the symptoms of covid, so tbh we're not sure what it was. Our mission nurse doesn't want us to get tested for covid unless we have a fever, which I didn't.  I've never heard of this, but you guys tell me if you have. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sister Rothwell says that when you're sick, you cut an onion in half and it takes the sickness out of you. So she bought an onion and the onion followed me everywhere. Sister Rothwell also put lots of essential oils on me and in three different diffusers. Haha she will be an awesome mom. So, not much happened this week because we had to stay home for half of the week. We were able to get out a little bit on Saturday and Sunday but I'm still trying to be careful.  Merry Christmas ...

Choose your hard ⛱๐ŸŒด -- December 14, 2020

Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka!  This week was pretty slow. We had quite a few lessons cancel on us so that was a bummer. On Tuesday, Sister Isralesen wasn't feeling good so we stayed home all day just to be safe. So we did lots of contacting, cleaning, and decorating for Christmas.    We went to the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium on Saturday which was so fun! They have a ton of cheap souvenirs. Our Pday will be cut short today so we got permission to go to the swap meet for a little bit. We have zone conference tonight so that's why it was cut short.  Sister Israeslen and I locked our keys in our trunk on Saturday...we were with Sisters Brown and Rothwell doing some finding. We were in their area, Hawaii Kai, which is about 20 minutes away from us. Sister Isralesen put the keys in the trunk and walked away. I didn't know our keys were in the trunk so I shut it..and yeah. Luckily Elders Reed and Ten Bosch came in clutch and grabbed the spare key from the office and brough...

Week of Miracles! ๐Ÿ’ฎ☀️ -- December 7, 2020

Aloha everyone! Sylvia is doing great! The new Elders in the McCully ward are awesome! They're very on top of things and they're helping Sylvia a lot which is exactly what we need. Michael is also doing great! He comes to church every week. We taught him the restoration last week and it went well! We will teach him the plan of salvation this week so please keep praying for Michael!!  We had lots of miracles this week! First, we called a former (someone who has formerly been taught by missionaries). 99% of the time they don't answer. Well we called this lady named Kathy and she talked to us for an hour! She wants to come to church and learn more. That was definitely a miracle!  We also had a self referral who we called this week named Phillis. She is also interested in learning more and she wants to come to church! We've been teaching this man named Rafael for a little while. We invited him to be baptized and he said yes!!!! We are so excited! The only problem is that he...

Not today Satan ๐Ÿ˜ˆ✌๐Ÿผ-- November 30, 2020

Aloha! I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did! We were able to go to both the Fong's and Mataele's for some food. This week was a pretty slow week. We didn't have a ton going on. We were mostly working with a few friends who we've been teaching. SYLVIA GOT BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY! We found out on Friday that she actually isn't in our ward..so for a fat minute we didn't think she'd be able to be baptized on Saturday because our ward (manoa ward) wanted her to be baptized into her actual ward (mcCully ward). Well the mcCully ward wanted her to be baptized into manoa. So it was a little stressful but we got it all figured out. Stressful things always happen right before someone is supposed to be baptized. That strengthens my testimony of the truthfulness of our church because Satan does all that he can to get people to not be baptized. Well, not today satan! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ Her baptism was great! She was so happy and felt the spirit so strongly. I will ne...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿฆƒ -- November 23, 2020

Aloooohhhhaaaaaa ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ So last Pday Sister Israelsen got her hair cut by Elder Cueves. He is a legit barber but he's only cut one girl's hair before Sister Isralesen. I was nervous because her hair is soooo long and pretty...but he did good haha. We had a little scare and her hair was uneven for a minute but Elder Cueves killed it.  We met with lots of people this week! We made a new friend named Jason. We read from the book of mormon with him on Tuesday night but he was kind of creepy. We brought Elders with us the next time we met him but he didn't show up. His phone number isn't working anymore either...so I'll keep you updated if that changes.  Sylvia is doing good! We pray that she still gets baptized on Saturday. We haven't been able to teach her everything yet because she talks SO much. Just teaching her about the word of wisdom and the law of chastity took 3 hours the other day. We have this problem with everyone we teach. Hawaiians love to talk story and...

Book of Mormon coming in clutch ๐Ÿ’ช -- November 16, 2020

Alooohhhaaaaa!  This week is a little different. We did a service at the aloha stadium today from 7-3 ish. The aloha stadium is UH's football stadium so that was cool. We have half of our Pday today and we had our other half of the Pday on Saturday. We met with Sylvia on Saturday and put her on date for baptism!!!! We hope to get her baptized on November 28! She was telling us about how she knows the Book of Mormon is true and how it all just makes sense. We are so excited for her!!  I'm doing great and a lot has happened this week. But I just want to talk about the Book of Mormon today! I finished reading it last week. I typically read it about 2 or 3 times a year. I know the book is true but I always want to take Moroni's challenge at the end and pray to know the truth through the power of the holy ghost. I did that the day I finished, and as soon as I started praying I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me once again that the book is true. As I was praying the sun shone in...
