Aloha everyone!
Sylvia is doing great! The new Elders in the McCully ward are awesome! They're very on top of things and they're helping Sylvia a lot which is exactly what we need. Michael is also doing great! He comes to church every week. We taught him the restoration last week and it went well! We will teach him the plan of salvation this week so please keep praying for Michael!!
We had lots of miracles this week! First, we called a former (someone who has formerly been taught by missionaries). 99% of the time they don't answer. Well we called this lady named Kathy and she talked to us for an hour! She wants to come to church and learn more. That was definitely a miracle!
We also had a self referral who we called this week named Phillis. She is also interested in learning more and she wants to come to church! We've been teaching this man named Rafael for a little while. We invited him to be baptized and he said yes!!!! We are so excited! The only problem is that he's in the process of moving and doesn't know if he wants to stay in Hawaii. So we can't set an exact date yet but we plan for the beginning of January!!
I've tried lots of new foods so far. As I'm sure you all know, I'm probably the pickiest eater ever. But I will list foods that I now like:
-Peanut Butter M&M's
-Nutella
Okay that's it for now but it's still progress. I also ate two new foods this week...I am so sorry to my cowboys and cowgirls on both sides of the fam but I ate horse...Sister Israelsen made me I'm sorry. It wasn't the nastiest thing ever, but I definitely wouldn't eat it. The Tongan ward gives the missionaries horse and it's apparently really good when it's fresh. I also ate raw fish. My family hates seafood so I really didn't want to eat it either. It wasn't that bad at all. It was better than the horse. But again, I wouldn't choose to eat it. But I told myself that I would at least try new foods while on my mission. I don't have to like them, but I want to try them.
So lots of miracles this week!!
Tomorrow marks two years since my Aunt Crystal passed away. I will never forget the night I found out that she died. It was so hard. I just want to bear my testimony of the plan of salvation. I know that I will see Crystal again. I know that she's not in pain anymore. I know this because of Jesus Christ and the plan of happiness. What a comfort it is to have this knowledge. I have felt Crystal many many many times since she's passed. I know that she is watching over my family and I. She is especially watching over Devin and their four beautiful girls who I love so much. Crystal was such a great example to all of us of charity and strength. I remember staying at their house for a week one summer when Crystal was really sick. Not once did I hear her complain. She wanted to serve others. She wanted to make treats to give to other people. She is one of the strongest people that I know and I know that she is one of the best missionaries in heaven. She had such a strong testimony and she loved the gospel. I miss and think about her every single day. But I know that I will see her again and I know that she is where she needs to be at this time. I am so grateful to have the knowledge of the plan of salvation!! I hope that everyone has a great week!! Happy Holidays!! 💚❤
Itchy Butt is the Chick-fil-A of Honolulu! So yummy!!
Thanks Elder Toawea for getting the sisters matching bracelets 😭 he's been serving for 32 months and he is one of the best missionaries ever. Please pray that he can go home soon!!
