No woman, no cry 🇯🇲 -- Monday, June 7, 2021

Aloha! I guess all of my titles are going to be Bob Marley songs now.🤣 This week was interesting! We were SO busy on Tuesday! We had interviews/training with President and Sister Walker which is always a party. During interviews we got a text from Matthew asking us to meet because he had a hard day. We listened to "A Summer with Great-Aunt Rose" by (at the time) President Uchtdorf. It was exactly what Matthew needed and me as well. The last few weeks have been hard and this talk helped remind me that life/missionary work is supposed to be joyful!

Wednesday was my half way mark as a missionary. 😳 Don't like that at all. We had our weekly service and meetings and it was a great day! We met with Matthew again on Thursday and we talked about baptism...he said he knows the church is true and he wants to be baptized but he's mentally not ready. It's kind of frustrating. 🤣 He told us he plans on being baptized within the next two years...🤙🏼

We taught Kawai on Friday and her baptism is on Saturday!! Woo hoo! I'm speaking and I'm so excited! We are going to have it on zoom so if anyone is interested in watching, I can get you the link!

We're teaching a lady named Beverly but we haven't been in contact with her for a few weeks. She came to church on Sunday and she is not doing well...mentally, physically, spiritually, all of the above. We've had a stressful 24 hours with her. She needs professional help but she comes to us and it's hard.

If you guys could please pray for Beverly, Kawai, and Matthew we would greatly appreciate it! Saturday was not the best day for me. We went to a beautiful house for an Institute Party and one of our nonmember friends was playing No Woman no cry by Bob Marley and it was just what I needed. 🤣 My dad played that song for me when I was sad and it still helps me hahahaha. Anyways, this week is going to be busy and awesome! Thanks for all of the love and support! I would love for yall to email me and get some updates on your lives.:)) much love and Aloha!

Some good conference talks that helped me this week:
  1. A Summer with Great-Aunt Rose by President Uchtdorf October 2015
  2. You Know Enough by Elder Andersen October 2008(shoutout to one of our sister missionaries, Sister Peay, who is in the talk)

These are my friends

Happy 18 months Tommy!

The rains came down, and the floods came up 🌧☔-- March 15, 2021

Aloha!! This week was kind of crazy...it was a hard week. I'm not sure if you all saw, but Hawaii had severe rainfall and floods this week on all of the Islands. It was scary. We drove a lot this week and I thought for sure we'd get into an accident a few times because of the rain. Two men even died on Maui from a landslide. Crazy stuff.  The weather made us hecka depressed so that was kind of hard. We taught Lacey and Laylynn again on Friday! Lacey asked if Laylynn can get baptized in May..of course we said yes haha. But we're a little concerned because we think that Lacey just wants to baptize her just to baptize her. Clearly we want her to be baptized and converted to the church, not just baptized just because. Laylynn does not want to be baptized either. So it's a work in progress. Honestly, not much happened this week because of the weather.  We did meet with a couple in our ward, the Brown's. They were the Mission President and wife of the Alpine, Germany miss...

We say "a hui hou" not "Aloha oe" -- February 22, 2021

Aloha!! Well, I am being transferred off Lanai...and I'm going to KAUAI!! I found out last Sunday that I would be leaving Lanai. President Walker said he woke up in the middle of the night and had a distinct impression that I needed to be somewhere else. I was not expecting that at all! I was told that I was going to be on Lanai for a while. I was actually excited to stay in Lanai because the work started progressing. But they're sending two awesome Filipino Elders over. One of the Elders coming, Elder Obando, has already served on Lanai for seven months and he's coming back ahaha. But he's awesome and the members here love him. So, we figured that I'd be going to Big Island because a ton of Sisters are leaving there..so I figured I'd go there or to Maui. But I was not expecting Kauai at all because they just put new sisters there. It's kind of interesting because there will be four of us sisters serving in the same ward. So we're kind of in a quad but m...
