Ivie's Missionary Journey

Aloha and Happy Monday! Man this week was CRAZY busy! We were gone from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm pretty much all week and that is the best feeling! We've been busy doing service, teaching, and going to meetings!  Unfortunately Kawai did not get baptized on Saturday. She texted us on Friday saying that her dad isn't 100% supportive of her getting baptized and she wants him to be 100% comfortable with it. This was a test of our faith for sure. We prayed and prayed and prayed all day long that she would be able to get baptized because she wants to be baptized and she's ready. I think we thought that we would see a miracle. We went over to their house on Friday night to talk about it and Kawai told us that it needs to be postponed. Kind of hard when the baptism was 12 hours later. As hard as it was, I felt peaceful about it. Kawai still has the desire to be baptized, we're still going to meet with her, and she will be baptized eventually. Aloha! I guess all of my titles are going to be Bob Marley songs now.🤣 This week was interesting! We were SO busy on Tuesday! We had interviews/training with President and Sister Walker which is always a party. During interviews we got a text from Matthew asking us to meet because he had a hard day. We listened to "A Summer with Great-Aunt Rose" by (at the time) President Uchtdorf. It was exactly what Matthew needed and me as well. The last few weeks have been hard and this talk helped remind me that life/missionary work is supposed to be joyful!  Wednesday was my half way mark as a missionary. 😳 Don't like that at all. We had our weekly service and meetings and it was a great day! We met with Matthew again on Thursday and we talked about baptism...he said he knows the church is true and he wants to be baptized but he's mentally not ready. It's kind of frustrating. 🤣 He told us he plans on being baptized within the next two years...🤙🏼 We taught Kawai on Frida...

Aloha everyone! The last few weeks have been SO crazy! Everything is going great though! Kawai is getting baptized on June 12 now! We are SO excited for her and she's excited too! Matthew is progressing so much and he is doing great! We don't think he's quite ready for baptism yet but hopefully soon! We flew to Oahu TWICE this week! We flew there on Tuesday night because we had mission tour on Wednesday. Elder and Sister Pearson came and talked to the mission! They flew to Oahu, Maui, and Big Island. So they flew us to Oahu. We came back on Wednesday night. And then the mission leaders from every island flew to Oahu on Saturday for MLC! We got a lot of information this week on how to take our mission to the next level so we have lots of work to do!  Sorry about my new Facebook account everyone!
