Kauai Mo Bettah 🐓 -- April 12, 2021

Aloha everyone! It was another awesome week here in Kalaheo. Seriously guys, you should all go to Kauai at some point in your life. I love it here so much and so does everyone who comes here. Our zone always says, "Kauai mo bettah" because it is haha.

We were finally able to meet with Lacey and Leilynn this week!! We taught them the Restoration. As soon as Sister Larson said the first vision, the spirit in the room was different. That happens every time we say the first vision and it's just another testament to me that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. We gave them a children's Book of Mormon and invited them to read it every night, and they seemed excited! Leilynn is set to be baptized on May 2 as of right now! Prayers for Lacey and Leilynn would be awesome!! This week was another hard week for finding. But we'll find people, we know they're out there!

So we held a Prom for the youth in our ward on Saturday and it was so fun! We've been planning it for about a month now. It was great! We had an investigator, non member, and a bunch of less active youth come.

We went to dinner at the Uhl's last night and I seriously love them so much. They give us a message instead of us giving them one when we go over. We talked about testimonies and what they are. It made me think about how I gained my testimony. I don't know everything, but I know enough. The same goes for all of us. I read a scripture while doing Come Follow Me yesterday that reminded me of this. It's Doctrine and Covenants 35:13, "Wherefore, I call upon the weak things of the world, those who are unlearned and despised, to thresh the nations by the power of my Spirit." We are not perfect and we are weak. But Heavenly Father still calls us to do his work. I just want you all to know that you know enough to share the gospel. Your testimony isn't going to be perfect and that's okay. We're still called to share the gospel. Anyways there's my Ted talk haha. Have a great week everyone! Thanks for all of the love and support!! Much ofas! 💜💜

Weekly dinner with the Kanahele's (Using a drill to make cookies haha)

The rains came down, and the floods came up 🌧☔-- March 15, 2021

Aloha!! This week was kind of crazy...it was a hard week. I'm not sure if you all saw, but Hawaii had severe rainfall and floods this week on all of the Islands. It was scary. We drove a lot this week and I thought for sure we'd get into an accident a few times because of the rain. Two men even died on Maui from a landslide. Crazy stuff.  The weather made us hecka depressed so that was kind of hard. We taught Lacey and Laylynn again on Friday! Lacey asked if Laylynn can get baptized in May..of course we said yes haha. But we're a little concerned because we think that Lacey just wants to baptize her just to baptize her. Clearly we want her to be baptized and converted to the church, not just baptized just because. Laylynn does not want to be baptized either. So it's a work in progress. Honestly, not much happened this week because of the weather.  We did meet with a couple in our ward, the Brown's. They were the Mission President and wife of the Alpine, Germany miss...

We say "a hui hou" not "Aloha oe" -- February 22, 2021

Aloha!! Well, I am being transferred off Lanai...and I'm going to KAUAI!! I found out last Sunday that I would be leaving Lanai. President Walker said he woke up in the middle of the night and had a distinct impression that I needed to be somewhere else. I was not expecting that at all! I was told that I was going to be on Lanai for a while. I was actually excited to stay in Lanai because the work started progressing. But they're sending two awesome Filipino Elders over. One of the Elders coming, Elder Obando, has already served on Lanai for seven months and he's coming back ahaha. But he's awesome and the members here love him. So, we figured that I'd be going to Big Island because a ton of Sisters are leaving there..so I figured I'd go there or to Maui. But I was not expecting Kauai at all because they just put new sisters there. It's kind of interesting because there will be four of us sisters serving in the same ward. So we're kind of in a quad but m...
