100 BAPTISMS! πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ™πŸ» -- January 4, 2021

Malo e lelei! πŸ€™πŸΌ

Wow a lot has happened in the last two weeks. I finished training, so that's cool I guess. I hated when missionaries asked me how long I still had in training so I'm finally done. πŸ˜‚ Honestly the work has been pretty slow during the holidays. Rafael was on the mainland for the holidays so we weren't able to teach him. Also, he did end up moving..he moved on base by Pearl Harbor. So he is no longer in our area, so we're working with the Elders over that area to get him baptized. Michael hasn't come to church in about two weeks..he isn't really responding to us anymore. We know that he is struggling with some things though so we think that he might need some time. He did ask about baptism a few weeks ago though, so that was  pretty cool!

Our mission has the goal of having 100 baptisms in the month of January! That would mean that each companionship would need at least one baptism! We've been asked to pray for that miracle in EVERY prayer that we say. Which is a lot of praying as a missionary. If you guys could also pray for that, we would really appreciate it!! We've seen miracles here in Hawaii, and we know that we will continue to see them as we have faith and work hard.

We've met with a few members over the last few days which has been good. We do a lot of member work in our mission, which has been kind of hard in our ward. But we talked to our ward mission leader about things and he will help us out. Hopefully the work starts to pick up now that the holidays are over. Our holidays were great! It was definitely different, but it's meant to be different as a missionary. I will never forget my first holiday season away from home, that's for sure. It was hard but awesome at the same time.

I'm so excited for Come Follow Me this year! I loved studying the Doctrine and Covenants in seminary, and I know that I'll love studying it this year too. I want to bear testimony of Joseph Smith. I know that he was a prophet of God! He saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. He restored the gospel on the Earth for us in these latter days. I am SO grateful for him, his family, friends, and the early Saints who sacrificed so much for the church. I miss doing Come Follow Me with my family every week so please do it every week with your families for me! We learned and grew so much closer together when we did it as a family. Also...if you haven't read Saints, READ IT!!!! I love it and am re-reading it right now. I think that everyone should read it haha. It is so entertaining and simple to understand. It goes along perfectly with studying the Doctrine and Covenants this year too! So I really encourage you all to read or listen to it. It has also strengthened my testimony of Joseph Smith and of the church.

I hope that everyone is doing great! I hope you all know how much I love you and am so grateful for you. If I can ever do ANYTHING for any one of you, please let me know! You are all in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I love being a missionary and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true! Ofas! πŸ’Ÿ

The rains came down, and the floods came up 🌧☔-- March 15, 2021

Aloha!! This week was kind of crazy...it was a hard week. I'm not sure if you all saw, but Hawaii had severe rainfall and floods this week on all of the Islands. It was scary. We drove a lot this week and I thought for sure we'd get into an accident a few times because of the rain. Two men even died on Maui from a landslide. Crazy stuff.  The weather made us hecka depressed so that was kind of hard. We taught Lacey and Laylynn again on Friday! Lacey asked if Laylynn can get baptized in May..of course we said yes haha. But we're a little concerned because we think that Lacey just wants to baptize her just to baptize her. Clearly we want her to be baptized and converted to the church, not just baptized just because. Laylynn does not want to be baptized either. So it's a work in progress. Honestly, not much happened this week because of the weather.  We did meet with a couple in our ward, the Brown's. They were the Mission President and wife of the Alpine, Germany miss...

We say "a hui hou" not "Aloha oe" -- February 22, 2021

Aloha!! Well, I am being transferred off Lanai...and I'm going to KAUAI!! I found out last Sunday that I would be leaving Lanai. President Walker said he woke up in the middle of the night and had a distinct impression that I needed to be somewhere else. I was not expecting that at all! I was told that I was going to be on Lanai for a while. I was actually excited to stay in Lanai because the work started progressing. But they're sending two awesome Filipino Elders over. One of the Elders coming, Elder Obando, has already served on Lanai for seven months and he's coming back ahaha. But he's awesome and the members here love him. So, we figured that I'd be going to Big Island because a ton of Sisters are leaving there..so I figured I'd go there or to Maui. But I was not expecting Kauai at all because they just put new sisters there. It's kind of interesting because there will be four of us sisters serving in the same ward. So we're kind of in a quad but m...
