Starting my Journey -- September 3, 2020

Hi everyone!!! I wasn't planning on sending an email out today but then a miracle already happened this week and I wanted to share it with everyone!! Today is my second full day as a missionary and I've loved every second of it. I'm not going to lie, it's been a little hard adjusting to this new life so far, but it's only been two days. My Pdays will be on Thursdays while I have MTC. You guys can text, call, facetime me, or whatever on Thursdays! I can also be on Facebook whenever! I have classes everyday of the week except for Sunday and Thursday from 9:30-12:30 am and then from 2:30-5:30 pm. My teachers are Sister Brockbank who teaches us in the mornings and Brother Buhler teaches our afternoon class. They are the best! They're super happy, positive, and they will be great teachers. My companion is Sister McKell! I already knew her because we had talked on Instagram. She was called to Perth and was reassigned to the Visitor's Center in Honolulu. We get along so great! We had companion study today and we can just talk and talk. We have a lot in common and I'm super excited to be with her. We also fly to Hawaii on the same day which will be nice. We have 10 people in our district and they are all awesome! Everyone participates and there is such a strong spirit in class. We have 7 workshops that we have to complete while we are doing MTC, and we had one last night. These workshops have hundreds of missionaries! There were over 400 missionaries in our workshop last night and it was awesome! We talked a lot about how you shouldn't really think about yourself as a missionary. You should care more about your companion, the people you are teaching, and others. This hit me and I realized how important this truly is. Gordon B. Hinckley said, "Do you want to be happy? Forget yourself and get lost in this great cause". I love this quote because it is so true!

I GOT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE TODAY!!! I really didn't think that I would be able to before I left. We got a call from the Draper temple on Tuesday saying that I could come this morning! My family and I had been praying that I could be endowed before I left. Today was also my Pday and my dad had the day off from work. It worked out perfectly! Heavenly Father does answer prayers, and this was such an awesome tender mercy. The temple was amazing and it was so good to be back! I felt the spirit so strongly. I also felt like my Aunt Crystal was right there with me the entire time, and it made me so happy. I could feel her and her love for me today as well as my Heavenly Father and Savior's love. It's been an awesome two days so far and I can't wait for this next week!!

The rains came down, and the floods came up 🌧☔-- March 15, 2021

Aloha!! This week was kind of crazy...it was a hard week. I'm not sure if you all saw, but Hawaii had severe rainfall and floods this week on all of the Islands. It was scary. We drove a lot this week and I thought for sure we'd get into an accident a few times because of the rain. Two men even died on Maui from a landslide. Crazy stuff.  The weather made us hecka depressed so that was kind of hard. We taught Lacey and Laylynn again on Friday! Lacey asked if Laylynn can get baptized in May..of course we said yes haha. But we're a little concerned because we think that Lacey just wants to baptize her just to baptize her. Clearly we want her to be baptized and converted to the church, not just baptized just because. Laylynn does not want to be baptized either. So it's a work in progress. Honestly, not much happened this week because of the weather.  We did meet with a couple in our ward, the Brown's. They were the Mission President and wife of the Alpine, Germany miss...

We say "a hui hou" not "Aloha oe" -- February 22, 2021

Aloha!! Well, I am being transferred off Lanai...and I'm going to KAUAI!! I found out last Sunday that I would be leaving Lanai. President Walker said he woke up in the middle of the night and had a distinct impression that I needed to be somewhere else. I was not expecting that at all! I was told that I was going to be on Lanai for a while. I was actually excited to stay in Lanai because the work started progressing. But they're sending two awesome Filipino Elders over. One of the Elders coming, Elder Obando, has already served on Lanai for seven months and he's coming back ahaha. But he's awesome and the members here love him. So, we figured that I'd be going to Big Island because a ton of Sisters are leaving there..so I figured I'd go there or to Maui. But I was not expecting Kauai at all because they just put new sisters there. It's kind of interesting because there will be four of us sisters serving in the same ward. So we're kind of in a quad but m...
