*67 👻 -- October 19, 2021

Aloha!! 🤙🏼

It's been another great week here in paradise! We started street contacting this week! Honestly, it's been hard. My first time street contacting was also Sister Israelsen's first time...so that made it hard. Also, I'm sure y'all know but talking to people is not my strong suit haha. So I need to work on that. We also don't know who's comfortable talking to us and who's not because of COVID. Things are definitely different here than in Utah. So we are struggling with street contacting. We just need to get out and do it more and practice.

We saw miracles at the end of all of our street contacting days though! If I've learned anything from street contacting, it's to listen to spiritual promptings. Sister Israelsen is a boss at listening to promptings. One of the nights we were out we were in a poorer area called date street. It reminds me of downtown magna for all of my magna homies. We saw a guy sitting outside and I honestly did not want to go talk to him. I thought that he wouldn't be interested in what we had to say. We walked passed him three times. As we were walking back to our car, Sister Isralesen blurts out, "I have a feeling that we need to go talk to that guy." I said alright let's do it. Well, he was the nicest and most open person we've met so far. His name is Michael and he's from Brooklyn. He almost died in a train accident a few years ago. His doctors told him that he should've died, but he didn't. He believes in God because he's still alive when he should've died. We had an awesome conversation and I hope that things progress with him. I'm grateful for Sister Isralesen because we wouldn't have met him if it weren't for her.

We've been doing lots of service and contacting. We've taught a few people, mostly members. We call lots of people who have been previously taught by missionaries but they never answer haha. We hit them with the classic *67 but it doesn't work either..lol but we try. So we're doing lots of finding.

Yesterday Sister Israelsen and I went to Sister Mataele's house to help with a Halloween primary zoom activity. I had to voice a puppet named batty. 😂 Sister Mataele sent me a dialogue and everything to practice. Sister Israelsen played the piano and she wore a witch hat 😂. It was different, but fun. Sister Mataele is the sweetest. She made breakfast for us after the activity and it was so good!! We ate outside on their balcony and they have the most beautiful view of the city and the ocean! We had an awesome morning with the Mataele's. She also invited us to a dinner party at her house on Halloween. She wants us to talk to some of her friends who aren't members. So we're excited for that.

We invited lots of people to church yesterday. Two of them actually showed up! It was so cool! We got to talk to them and teach them about the things we do at church. We plan on meeting with them this week to talk more.

It's weird being in 85 degree weather in October...I love fall time and Halloween so I miss it! Everyone make sure to watch Hocus Pocus, Corpse Bride, and The Nightmare Before Christmas for me! Listen to all of the Halloween music and eat all of the candy too!! 🎃

I'm very grateful for the chance that I have to be a missionary. I know that this is what I'm supposed to be doing right now. I'm grateful for Heavenly Father. He is definitely looking out for missionaries! I have had so many experiences already that have proven this, especially this last week. Have a great week everyone, I love you all! Ofas!!

Pictures.?
I honestly didn't take any pictures this week... sorry I need to do better. But here is a picture of our Savior. I love him so much. He gives me strength every single day. Don't forget that he died for YOU. He loves YOU and knows YOU personally. ❤

The rains came down, and the floods came up 🌧☔-- March 15, 2021

Aloha!! This week was kind of crazy...it was a hard week. I'm not sure if you all saw, but Hawaii had severe rainfall and floods this week on all of the Islands. It was scary. We drove a lot this week and I thought for sure we'd get into an accident a few times because of the rain. Two men even died on Maui from a landslide. Crazy stuff.  The weather made us hecka depressed so that was kind of hard. We taught Lacey and Laylynn again on Friday! Lacey asked if Laylynn can get baptized in May..of course we said yes haha. But we're a little concerned because we think that Lacey just wants to baptize her just to baptize her. Clearly we want her to be baptized and converted to the church, not just baptized just because. Laylynn does not want to be baptized either. So it's a work in progress. Honestly, not much happened this week because of the weather.  We did meet with a couple in our ward, the Brown's. They were the Mission President and wife of the Alpine, Germany miss...

We say "a hui hou" not "Aloha oe" -- February 22, 2021

Aloha!! Well, I am being transferred off Lanai...and I'm going to KAUAI!! I found out last Sunday that I would be leaving Lanai. President Walker said he woke up in the middle of the night and had a distinct impression that I needed to be somewhere else. I was not expecting that at all! I was told that I was going to be on Lanai for a while. I was actually excited to stay in Lanai because the work started progressing. But they're sending two awesome Filipino Elders over. One of the Elders coming, Elder Obando, has already served on Lanai for seven months and he's coming back ahaha. But he's awesome and the members here love him. So, we figured that I'd be going to Big Island because a ton of Sisters are leaving there..so I figured I'd go there or to Maui. But I was not expecting Kauai at all because they just put new sisters there. It's kind of interesting because there will be four of us sisters serving in the same ward. So we're kind of in a quad but m...
